Couples should plan to have intercourse at times when a woman is least fertile to avoid accidental pregnancies. Multiple types of these methods are temperature method, cervical mucus method and calendar method.

Emergency Contraception
Emergency Contraception’s like Plan B, are used when birth control methods fail or have been used incorrectly. Plan B is a pill that can be bought at drugstores that contain hormones to prevent ovulation. This method should NOT be used on a regular basis and is a back-up plan when the original method fails. It costs around $50.
