Fungal
Yeast Infections
A yeast infection is caused by an inbalance of naturally occuring yeast: candida and bacteria. The Lactobacillus bacterial produce acid which prevents yeast overgrowth. A disruption of this balance may be caused by antibiotics (decreases lactobacillus bacteria), uncontrolled diabetes, impaired immune system, taking oral contraceptives (birth control).
Both men and women can have a yeast infection, but they are more common in women. Symptoms in men vary and may include itching, rash and inflammation of the head of the penis. A vaginal yeast infection causes irritation, thick discharge and intense itchiness of the vagina and the vulva.
You can spread the fungus through mouth to genital contact with an infected person. Medications can effectively treat yeast infections.

Parasitic
Trichomoniasis is a diseased caused by a small organism called Trichomonas Vaginalis. Woman's symptoms consist of discolored discharge, vaginal itching and irritation which causes discomfort during sex, and rare abdomen pain. Males symptoms consist of irritation or burning inside the penis and during urination or ejaculation and mild discharge. Unless symptoms are dominant, people do not typically notice they have Trichomoniasis until their annual examinations. If you re diagnosed, antibiotics can be used to treat this disease.
Public Lice (Crabs)
Public lice are spread mostly during sexual activity. Although rarely, the lice can also be spread through contact with toilet seats, sheets, blankets, or bathing suits (shared or those you try on at the store!) Pubic lice are found mostly in teenagers.
You are at greater risk for pubic lice if you have many sexual partners, have sexual contact with an infected person and/or share bedding or clothing with an infected person.
The symptoms of public lice include itching of the skin covered by pubic hair. The itching can start right after contact or it may start up to 2 to 4 weeks after contact.
The infection can also cause skin to turn bluish-gray in color or sores in the genital area due to bites and scratching. Pubic lice are often treated with over the counter medicines containing permethrin.

Scabies (Crabs)
Scabies is a skin condition where tiny mites burrow under the skin and lay their eggs. This causes intense itching, especially at night. It can take up to 6 weeks to develop any symptoms, although the infected person is still high contagious when asymptomatic. Scabies spreads through direct skin contact with an infected person. It is very rarely spread through contact with clothing or bedding, though it is possible.
Scabies is treated with medications applied to the skin that kill the mites that cause scabies and their eggs. You may still experience itching for several weeks after treatment.
